Lake Creek Preserve Monthly Guided Hike
Looking for a way to explore nature, see ecosystems in action, and have fun? Join Bayou Land Conservancy at Lake Creek Preserve for a family-friendly nature hike!
This is a monthly guided hike through Lake Creek Preserve, where we will explore various ecosystems and terrain. This is a moderately easy ~1 mile loop, which traverses through sand, mud (when wet) and over a few boardwalks.

No dogs allowed. Close-toed shoes and ample drinking water required.

Invasive Removal at Arrowwood
Join Bayou Land Conservancy’s Invasive Species Eradication Patrol (BISEP) at Arrowwood Preserve! We’ll be removing invasive plants to help native wildlife thrive.

We’ll kick things off with a quick safety talk and a rundown on the plants we’re targeting. Then we’ll walk along natural trails to our work spots and get busy removing invasive plants in the open understory.

Required Supplies: Water (at least 48 oz), close-toed shoes or mud boots, long-sleeve shirt, long pants, and gloves.

Recommended: A bag for your water, snacks, etc. Insect repellent/sun protection, hard hat, hand tools (loppers, hand saws, etc.), work/garden gloves, safety glasses, pruners/loppers (we’ll have some to borrow).​
Whoot's Out at Arrowwood?
Join BLC as we learn about the feathered friends that come out as the sun goes down! ​
We will spend some time learning about owls and other nocturnal birds at the outdoor classroom. Then, if conditions allow, we will take a short hike into the woods to see if we can spot some of the nighttime residents at Arrowwood Preserve.​

Creekside Guided Hike
Join Bayou Land Conservancy Docents on this walk around the Creekside ponds!
​
Enjoy a 1.5 - 2 mile walk along our western extent of the Spring Creek Nature Trail, as our Docents tell you about the history of the preserve and the importance of protecting it. ​
