Our committees help us expand our conservation, outreach, and advocacy efforts. If you have a passion or skillset that matches one of our committees, please email info@bayouland.org.

LANDS COMMITTEE

Evaluates potential conservation projects, stewardship practices, and landowner outreach. Meetings: Second Monday of each month, 4:30-6:30 p.m. Committee Chair: Dr. Matthew Berg Staff Liaison: Becky Martinez and Suzanne Simpson



COMMUNITY CONSERVATION COMMITTEE

Identifies and creates opportunities for members and volunteers to increase their involvement in BLC's education, outreach, and stewardship programs. Next Meeting: Thursday January 27th, 2022 6:30pm-7:30pm Committee Chair: Carson Stokes Staff Liaison: Frida Ramirez



PUBLIC POLICY "POLICY AT THE PUB" COMMITTEE

Steers BLC's advocacy agenda and engagement with policy makers. Meetings: Third Thursday of each month, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Committee Chair: Kelly Dietrich Staff Liaison: Jill Boullion



LAND LOVER GALA COMMITTEE

An exciting, working committee that helps to plan BLC’s annual fundraiser. Committee members help where they feel most comfortable. Planning includes everything that goes in to the event: sponsorships, decorations, program/speakers, silent auction, awards and raffle. Meetings: First Thursday of each month, 4:30-6 p.m. Committee Chair: Erin Valley Staff Liaison: Melissa Carter



FINANCE COMMITTEE

Oversees BLC's expense and revenue budgets, and guides investment policy. Prior accounting or finance experience preferred. Meetings: First Monday of the month from 5-6 p.m. Committee Chair: Michael Nelson Staff Liaison: Jill Boullion



DEI&A Committee

Evaluates and integrates diversity, equity, inclusion, and access strategies for internal and external BLC activities

Meetings: Every 4 weeks on Fridays, 2:00-3:00 p.m. Committee Co-Chairs: Lisa Lin and Rebecca Kuo Staff Liaison: Suzanne Simpson
