BISEP meets every Thursday from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Arrowwood Preserve to remove invasive species and restore the ecosystem. Come lend a hand and make a difference!

About BISEP
Longtime volunteers Tom and Diana Philpot formed BISEP in 2024 to pursue their passion for invasive species removal and habitat restoration. In just two years, they helped restore more than 30 acres of critical habitat at Arrowwood Preserve by removing invasive plants.
Invasive plant species are non-native plants that spread quickly, disrupt local ecosystems, and can cause billions of dollars in economic damage. Without natural predators to keep them in check, these highly adaptable, aggressive plants crowd out native species, threatening the insects and pollinators that depend on them.
By removing invasive plants, BISEP helps restore Arrowwood’s rich bottomland forest and gives native species room to thrive. Their efforts help protect this critical habitat and preserve it for future generations.
